1 What We Collect

CaseScribe collects only the information necessary to generate IEP goals:

• Grade level — to align goals with developmental expectations
• Disability category — to ensure goal appropriateness
• Present levels of academic and functional performance — the student's current skills and needs
• Goal areas — which domains need goal coverage

2 How We Store Data

Short answer: We don't.

CaseScribe uses an ephemeral AI processing model:

• Your input is sent to our AI for processing only when you request goal generation
• Once the AI returns the generated goals, the input is immediately and permanently deleted
• We maintain no database of student information
• No long-term storage of any educational records

3 Data Sharing

We have a simple policy: we never sell, rent, or share student data with anyone.

• No third-party data brokers
• No advertising networks
• No data sharing with vendors
• AI processing uses only our own secured infrastructure

The only person who sees the input data is you—the case manager generating the goals.

4 Data Retention

Because we don't store student PII, there's nothing to retain:

• Zero retention of student-identifying information
• No educational records stored on our servers
• No retention policies needed because there's no data to retain

We only aggregate anonymous, non-identifying usage data (e.g., "50 goals were generated for 4th grade this month") for product improvement purposes—never tied to any individual student.

5 FERPA Rights Under This Policy

Under FERPA, parents and eligible students have the right to:

• Inspect and review educational records — N/A, as we maintain no educational records
• Request amendment of records — N/A
• Consent to disclosures — We never disclose student data
• File complaints with the Department of Education

Since CaseScribe processes no permanent student records, parents can rest assured: their children's education data simply isn't stored in our system.
